Session Description: Attendees will learn how to manage big emotions through various prevention techniques, daily check-ins, and defining personal boundaries. These techniques will cover creativity, self-exploration, and promotion of physical wellness.
Job Task Domains:
1. Job Task Area [3.01]: [Develop individualized plan of care] The activities shared can be used to plan client care.
2. Job Task Area [4.01]: [Deliver program services] If we're not ok, it's harder to take care of clients. The techniques shared can be used for therapists' own care to better their services.
3. Job Task Area [3.02]: [Design program services] The topics covered can be expanded upon and turned into a program rather than just individual plans.
This session is part of the Recreation Therapy "RT" Institute which is a ticketed event.
Learning Objectives:
Identify what their wellness needs are in times of stress
Define their personal boundaries and how to effectively communicate when they are crossed
Effectively journal their past, present, and future in a way that helps them shed old pain and build themselves into who they want to become.
