Session Description: Join two long time pals and professional colleagues as they come together to share with you the many ways they have come together over the years for the greater good of their respective communities. Mel and Reese first started working together as sports coordinators for their small agencies for well over a decade. Both working with a smaller work force, limited budgets, but communities with great heart. They've found ways to leverage resources, build partnerships, lend a helping hand and knowing when and how to reach out for one in return. They've built up on the strengths of their programs, staff, colleagues and communities over the years and they want to share their insight, knowledge and experiences with other rec professionals. Especially those coming from smaller agencies looking to bring the same quantity and quality of programing to their communities as their fellow agencies.
As they share their stories, and have you engage in some group activities, you'll cover the following:
Successful interagency collaborations
Leveraging resources
The myth of independence
What's the why?
Building up a team from multiple agencies
Plus some witty unsolicited comments and jokes....
Let us help you, help others, to help yourselves, to help your community!
