Spend the day visiting and learning about five remarkable parks and recreation facilities in the Greater Sacramento area! This guided tour will highlight the creative vision, operations, partnerships, and community impact behind these spaces. Attendees will hear directly from local staff and operators while experiencing these parks as a first-time visitor. The tour will depart in front of the Safe Credit Union Convention Center at 8:00 am and return by 4:30 pm. Lunch and snacks will be provided.
This year’s tour includes the City of West Sacramento Recreation Center, a dynamic community hub offering diverse fitness and recreational opportunities, and a model for successful joint-use operations with the local school district; the Healthy Roots Community Garden, which showcases sustainable urban agriculture and community collaboration; William Land Regional Park, a cherished Sacramento landmark with vibrant attractions and scenic natural beauty; the Natomas Aquatics Complex, a premier $40 million aquatic facility designed to serve a growing community; and the Robert T. Matsui Waterfront Park, a stunning riverfront destination blending recreation and relaxation.
