Michael Patton is the Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Riverbank, bringing over a decade of experience in the parks and recreation field. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management from Brigham Young University–Idaho and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Idaho State University. He has worked in many different capacities and positions in the parks and recreation field in Idaho, Utah, and California. His commitment to fostering community engagement and enhancing recreational opportunities has made a significant impact throughout his career.
In 2023, Michael was recognized as one of the National Recreation and Park Association’s (NRPA) "30 Under 30," highlighting his innovative leadership and dedication to the profession. He also served on NRPA’s Park Access Network Advisory Panel in the same year, contributing valuable insights on improving equitable access to parks and recreational facilities.
As a certified parks and recreation professional, Michael is dedicated to ensuring that parks and recreational programs are accessible to everyone in the community. His work in Riverbank reflects his passion for developing inclusive recreational programs that promote wellness, community building, and sustainable development. With a deep-rooted passion for recreation and public service, Michael continues to be a leader in the industry, working to create lasting, positive impacts through thoughtful park planning and program development.
