Rosie has lived in Southern California her whole life. Rosie has worked for the City of Norwalk for 20 years. In the beginning as a recreation coordinator, but this allowed her to work with the Teen Alliance program, Summer Youth Leadership, and Teen Center where her true passion lies, working with the youth. During her tenure with the City of Norwalk, Rosie has seen many improvements to the community; the Norwalk Teen Center, Norwalk Sports Complex, concerts in the Park, and Summer youth programs. Rosie is most proud of the growth of a couple of events; Front Street Fridays, Halloween Parade, and the Teen Alliance program, which is a teen Volunteer program that consists of over 300 volunteers. The Teen Alliance is celebrating 30 years of Services to the teens in Norwalk. Being that rosie began as a recreation leader for smaller cities such as South Gate, Paramount, and Whitter, Rosie has learned to wear many hats, and works the front desk, website, and events, from planning, to set up, to cleaning up, advertising, graphics, organizes classes and summer programs, and the typical, “other duties as assigned.” Rosie is a Mentor for the youth shares her wisdom and encourages them to live their dream.
