Lauren has been in the recreation sector since 2013, serving public recreation in civil service as well as public schools. She has an extensive background in youth recreation programming, youth and adult sports, aquatics and special events. In her time with public schools, Lauren was a manager of the state grant-funded Expanded Learning Opportunity Program, supporting athletics, summer camps, Saturday programming and community partnerships to provide extended opportunities for low income youth. In her current role as Director of Recreation at North of the River Recreation and Park District, Lauren supports the recreation staff and department, making programs, opportunities and outreach more effective (and fun!) for the community.
