Recreation & Community Services Coordinator
City of Ontario
Ontario, California
My name is Natalie Avina-Lopez; I am a Recreation and Community Services Coordinator who has been in their position for about a year. I have a bachelor's degree in political science and public administration from Cal Poly Pomona. I am currently applying to start my master's program in public administration. Recreation has been a big part of my life. I started volunteering in recreation at age 11 and quickly realized I wanted to continue in this profession, which I did.
One of the main program areas I oversee is mobile recreation; I lead a team of 15 wonderful staff who visit 10 different locations Monday through Thursday, providing all sorts of activities to those who do not have direct access to recreation. I also focus on adaptive programming, interdepartmental collaborations, volunteers, and more. I play a crucial role in organizing, planning, and implementing recreational programs and community services for individuals of all ages. My strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills help me successfully coordinate and manage various recreational and community service activities and succeed in my role. Overall, I am a dedicated person who is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of the community I serve. My enthusiasm and unwavering dedication make me a valuable asset to the field.
