Mike recently retired as the Aquatic Supervisor for the City of Lompoc at the Lompoc Aquatic Center - where he oversaw the day-to-day operations of a large, indoor multi-attraction aquatic facility. Prior to his position with the City of Lompoc, Mike held positions with the YMCA of the USA as the Aquatic Safety Specialist and the American National Red Cross as the Manager for Aquatics Technical Development.
Mike has been involved in the aquatics field for over 35 years and has held various aquatic supervisory positions in California, Florida and Virginia. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a major in Recreation Administration and a minor in Outdoor Recreation from the University of Tennessee.
He is a cofounder & past president of the Association of Aquatic Professionals (AOAP) and a former commissioner on the City of Morro Bay’s Recreation Commission (2018-2022). He currently serves on the Council for the Model Aquatic Health Code’s (CMAHC) Education Committee.
