Chris is a Professor Emeritus with the Department of Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism at California State University East Bay. He has previously served as the Interim Dean and Interim Associate Dean for the College of Education and Allied Studies as well as Department Chair in the Department of Hospitality, Recreation & Tourism, and Department of Teacher Education. Prior to working at Cal State, he spent 20 years in the municipal recreation industry developing aquatics, teens, fitness events, and summer playground programs. He has researched, written on, and presented on the topic of leadership and team-building development throughout California.
Chris was honored as a 2024 Inductee into the CPRS Hall of Fame. He has served as the President of the Aquatics Section, Administrators Section and the Education Section. He also served two terms on the CPRS State Board as a Council of Sections Representative and was a co-founder of the California Aquatic Management School.
