Melody Valenzuela Gutierez is a Recreation Supervisor for the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks in the West Region. She is responsible for managing twelve recreation facilities, five pocket parks and organizing major special events. Melody holds a Bachelors degree from Cal State Northridge and has over 30 years of experience in the field of recreation and is committed to creating inclusive environments where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together to engage, learn, and thrive. Melody continues to make a meaningful impact in the West Region of Los Angeles, empowering communities to lead healthier, more active lives.
In her free time, you will find her in the bleachers or sidelines, cheering on her daughters either during a soccer, flag football game or swim meet. She enjoys watching football, exploring new books and traveling. Above all, she values time spent with loved ones!
