Heidi Wippel (she/her/hers)

Head Physical Education and Recreation Coach
California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation

Heidi Wippel has been serving her community for over 30 years as an educator, coach, administrator, and mentor. Her passion has been serving disadvantaged communities through sports and recreation. She has had a wide variety of experiences including public school educator, correctional educator for youth offenders for women and men, and physical educator at Corcoran State Prison. Her most recent role is the mentorship and guidance of the 41 Coaches who provide physical education, athletics, fitness, and recreation programs at 33 California Prisons throughout the state.
