Session Description: The CEO and COO of Manufacturing at TenCate bring together a panel of industry leaders to address today’s most pressing challenges—plastic waste and climate change—and the biggest questions and concerns raised by communities and decision makers surrounding synthetic turf.
Is artificial turf safe for the environment?
Is artificial turf safe for people and animals?
How long do synthetic fields and play areas last?
Is artificial turf easy to maintain?
What is synthetic turf made from? Are those materials safe and/or sustainable?
What happens to the used materials when a field is replaced?
This panel will showcase the innovations their organizations have championed to confront communities’ environmental and social challenges head on—challenges like the buildup of plastic waste, widespread droughts and limited recreational spaces. TenCate and its partners are creating better products and processes by applying scientific insights and user feedback and building partnerships that have sparked change in the industry.
TenCate and its partners have taken over the entire life cycle of an artificial turf system—materials, manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and end of life—to make sure its turf systems meet the highest environmental and health standards. They pay close attention to product safety and quality, energy and water efficiency, and waste reduction. Collaborating with third-party manufacturers and leading technical experts has enabled continuous improvements such as conserving water and reducing chemical use. These improvements benefit communities and raise standards in the industry.
Participants in this presentation and panel discussion will be encouraged to ask questions regarding the innovations TenCate and its partners have implemented into the life cycle of its turf systems and provide insights about their experiences with both artificial turf and natural grass. This session will be educational and informative for all participants and attendees.
