Session Description:

This session will provide a comprehensive look at the utilization of electric vehicles (EVs), EV charging stations, robots and battery operated tools in park departments. A panel of professionals will share their firsthand experiences with incorporating EVs into their fleets, installing EV charging infrastructure and transitioning to battery-powered tools like mowers and hand equipment. Attendees will gain valuable insights into overcoming challenges, optimizing budgets with government rebates and incentives and creating sustainable, environmentally friendly park operations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will understand the key considerations and challenges in integrating EVs into park fleets, including vehicle selection, operational impacts and maintenance, as well as the adoption of battery-powered tools and equipment.
  • Participants will learn how to plan, budget and install EV charging infrastructure in park facilities, while also transitioning to battery-powered tools, with a focus on maximizing government rebates and incentives.
  • Participants will explore strategies for integrating EVs, charging stations, and battery-powered tools in a way that enhances sustainability.
